Why is show make-up and hair so important?

Theatre and stage craft is a huge part of learning any dance style. Theatrical make-up helps to highlight the features on the face and make them stand out. Stage lights can wash a performer out and make facial features difficult to see for the audience. This is why even for the youngest performers stage make up is important. Groomed hair is not only important for health and safety during dance and exercise but also an integral part of being stage ready and smart for a performance.

Will pupils need any hair or make up items with them?

Pupils involved in Show 1 & 2 should bring hairspray, grips, make-up etc to refresh for Show 2.
